RELIGION
The principal religion is catholic, however catholic faith is mixed with the beliefs of indigenous peoples, many ecuadorians believe in local healers or shamans, whom use ancient remedies passed down by their ascendants. Religious decorations are clearly visible in households, companies and even on public transportation. Many buses are decorated with religious phrasesthat include references to baby Jesus and Mary.
GALAPAGOS ISLANDS
Galapagos is a province and a national park of Ecuador, 600 miles west of the mainland.
The Galapagos Islands form the most varied and multifaceted Archipelago in the world, in which the conditions remain fairly untouchable.
The Galapagos marine living is strongly related to life in the islands. Birds and animals existing near the water have a large variety of distinguishing habitats and endemic species including: lizards, marine iguanas. Another notable wildlife includes sea lions, seals, Galápagos penguins, albatrosses, gulls.
